With only the morning to spend in Quebec we got an early start and spent our time further exploring Old Quebec on foot. Starting out by returning to a couple of the sites we'd seen briefly on our bus tour. These included a tree which has grown around an English cannon ball which it's pushed up out of the soil, and the first house in Old Quebec.
We then explored the walled area behind Chateau Frontenac, where we had a great view over the lower section of the city/harbour. On the wall we found an ice slide that you can ride, according to the guy setting this up, you can reach 70km/hr on the sleds owing down it. If only we had more time!
We then ventured down the many stairs (we left the kids to count them so the final number was somewhere between 60 & 100 stairs) to look at the boutiques & murals in the streets below the wall, before taking a ride back up on the "funicular". Much faster than the stairs!
Then it was off to Ottawa!
